Meet famous Black Bay line impeccably adjusted for every wrist. Like other models in the Black Bay family, the new Black Bay line features a dial inspired by the Tudor diver watches produced during the 1950s in an elegant blue with a dial displaying only the basics.
It adopts the characteristic angular hands, known to collectors as snowflake, that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue. Likewise, the large winding crown, famous characteristic of the first generation of Tudor diving watches is also presented on this new model.
Far from simply being an identical re-release of a classic, it brings together over 60 years of Tudor divers’ watches at the same time as being firmly tied up in the present.
While it is neo-vintage in conception, its manufacturing techniques, reliability and the quality of its finish are consistent with today’s more rigorous requirements.
As a dedication to the history of the brand, which has been offering the blue dial colour in its collections ever since the 1960s, the dials of the Black Bay 41, compact Black Bay 36 and feminine 32 version is also available in a beautiful blue version.
Meticulously lacquered for a touch of elegance, the new blue dial captures the light in a spectrum of vivid blue to a navy so deep it is almost black to the eye. With their outstanding contrast and clarity, these shades are in keeping with Black Bay’s original purpose. They adopt the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as “snowflake” that appeared in the brand’s catalogue in the late sixties.
On the blue dial also resides the applied white triangle, rectangular, and circular hour markers familiar from past Tudor divers diamond-lollipop seconds hand, and slim minute hand.
These contemporary models also promotes a large winding crown, characteristic of the first generation of Tudor diving watches and smooth steel bezel with polished finish.
Elegant and functional, the Tudor Black Bay is now available in 32, 36 and 41 millimeters. While the original Heritage Black Bay is adorned with a rugged tool watch appeal, its dressier line the Black Bay 41, 36 and 32 with mesmerizing blue dial sits discreetly on the wrist.
For its Black Bay 41 model, Tudor atelier has retained the overall shape of the watches in the Black Bay family, reworking them for a more formal look that is both elegant and sporty. In particular, the middle case has been redesigned and slimmed down to allow it to slip under a shirt cuff more easily.
In the same spirit, the choice of a flat sapphire crystal - for the rest of the Black Bay family it is domed - flush with the fixed bezel in polished steel creates a minimalist effect. The Black Bay 36 retains the authentic lines of Black Bay collection while reducing its proportions. Its act both as an introduction to the Black Bay aesthetic for slimmer wrists and as a more formal option, while remaining both fashionable and sporty.
Compact Tudor Black Bay 36 was also available in the lovely hue of navy blue that echoes those famous retro Tudor Subs. Tudor has expanded their ever-popular Black Bay range without bezel to include a new feminine model. As one of Tudor’s last additions to the Black Bay line - the Black Bay 32 scales down the minimalist model beyond the unisex midsize 36 to a conventional women’s watch case size.
Thanks to the minimalist dial design, this is the type of watch that you can pair with several different straps. The Black Bay family comes with the choice of a steel bracelet, a leather strap with steel folding clasp or a black fabric strap for more casual vibe. Made using the Jacquard technique, a traditional method achieved by a hundred-year-old family manufacture from the St-Etienne region of France, this strap is one of Tudor’s signature features.
All three version uses highly reliable self-winding mechanical movement, Caliber 2824 with power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
