In 2012, Tudor released popular Heritage Black Bay collection. In terms of design, the original Black Bay has started a new chapter. But, unlike timepieces it took inspiration from, Black Bay did not have a vintage appeal with a 41mm case.
Six years later, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight was originally launched at Baselworld – which delighted exactly those collectors who prefere timepieces in a classical size.
And with a 39 mm case diameter, Black Bay Fifty-Eight was only available in one color scheme - until now.
For a new season, atelier Tudor pays tribute to the brand's pioneer dive timepiece with the Black Bay Fifty-Eight „Navy Blue“, a model whose dimensions and color evoke that part of the epoch.
Blue color is part of the Tudor's identity as it has been widely used in past, as well on contemporary models.
The new Black Bay Fifty-Eight „Navy Blue“ takes us back to the glory days of watchmaking and craftmenship.
A look into the past reveals a nostalgic story: in 1969, Tudor introduced a dive watch with a blue dial and bezel.
The other sporty models in the collection were soon attired in authentic blue tone, immediately creating a lasting visual hallmark, known as “Tudor Blue”.
Adopted by the fearless French navy, famous Marine Nationale, this unique livery became part of the collective Tudor identity.
The Black Bay Fifty-Eight „Navy Blue“ now follows this tradition with its navy blue dial and bezel insert. Of course, Tudor's irresistible snowflake hands also make a charming, retro appearance. The Black Bay Fifty-Eight „Navy Blue“ is available on riveted steel bracelet with polished and satin finish, “soft touch” strap with folding clasp or a casual fabric strap.
Tudor introduces a new color pattern for a timepiece whose robustness and reliability invites you to explore the sea depths. All technical elements are retained: with the Manufacture Calibre MT5402, Tudor atelier launches a second family of movements, three years after the introduction of its first in-house calibre.
Designed for medium-sized Tudor watches, the Calibre MT5402 is 26 mm in diameter and displays hours, minutes and seconds. It has the appearance and finish of typical Tudor manufacture calibres, and its powerful structure has been designed to ensure unexcelled robustness, longevity and reliability. Featuring a 70-hour power reserve, the manufacture calibre MT5402 is certified by the renowed Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute
