Tudor is proud to present the newest additions to the 2018 portfolio. As the most popular family, Black Bay welcomes three new models adding new sizes, materials and functions to a line inspired by generations of diving watches. Besides updated Black Bay models, Tudor is at Baselworld also paying tribute to the brand’s early history with a new collection for women and men. Symbolically named after the year the brand was founded, the new Tudor 1926 offers a range of mechanical watches that are at once timeless and elegant.
The Black Bay is without question the most successful contemporary Tudor. The brand's vintage-inspired watch now marks new territory with a classic travel complication. Presented at Baselworld 2018, Tudor’s famous Black Bay is now available with a respectable function. Tudor is expanding its Black Bay line by presenting a model with a highly functional complication: a multiple time-zone function – also known as a GMT function that establishes local time with two time zones.
Visually, Tudor Black Bay GMT remains true to its heritage. Fitted with the Manufacture Calibre MT5652, the new Black Bay GMT presents a eye-catching burgundy and blue bezel. Like other models in the Black Bay line, the GMT features a dial inspired by the Tudor diving watches produced during the 1950s. They also adopt the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as Snowflake that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue. With a steel case, 41 mm in diameter, the Black Bay GMT is waterproof to 200 metres.
The Black Bay line is the result of the subtle blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary watchmaking. Far from simply being an identical re-release of a classic, it brings together over60 years of Tudor diving watches. Now, Tudor is introducing an additional model as part of its Black Bay line, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, whose dimensions are similar to the brand’s first diving watches.
It is measured to suit slim wrists, people who like more compact watches and, of course, vintage enthusiasts. Simbolicaly, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is named after the year in which the first Tudor watch suitable for underwater adventure was introduced. It also comes in a new colour combination – a subtle variation on the aesthetics of the Black Bay family. The Calibre MT5402 with a 70-hour power reserve displays hour, minute and second functions and has been designed for medium-sized Tudor watches.
The Black Bay is now available in yellow gold and steel version - an emblematic model celebrating decades of diving watches with extraordinary craftsmanship and luxurios materials. In this variant the lines and beloved proportions of the famous collection are ratained, while the rotating bezel and the winding crown are made from yellow gold. The vintage-inspired steel bracelet with riveted details is also adorned with this precious metal central links. The classy champagne or more formal black dial features the signature touches, such as nostalgic Snowflake hands and retro indexes. The watch is also available with a vintage leather and casual fabric strap. Fitted with the Manufacture Calibre MT5602, Tudor Black Bay S&G also introduces the practical date function to the popular collection. Furthermore, the movement is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.
Tudor company is now expanding the Black Bay range even further to include a new feminine model. The new Black Bay 32 combines the technical sophistication of a tool-watch in a smaller, refined model for women. Elegant and functional, the Black Bay 32 is available with the choice of a black or blue laquered dial. It is waterproof to 150 metres, has a self-winding mechanical movement and is highly legible.
As a hommage to the history of the brand, which has been offering the blue dial colour in its collections since the 1960s, the dials of the new Black Bay lineup will also be available in a new blue version. Meticulously lacquered for a touch of elegance, the new blue dial captures the light in a spectrum of vivid electric blue to a navy so deep it is almost black. With their outstanding contrast and clarity, these shades are in keeping with Black Bay’s original purpose – legibility.
The Black Bay 41, 36 and 32 are supplied with a choice of a steel bracelet, a leather strap with a folding clasp, or in black fabric. The complete lineup is powered by Calibre 2824, self-winding mechanical movement.
Presented at Baselworld, with its new 1926 line for woman and men, Tudor pays tribute to its early history with a range of mechanical watches that are timeless and elegant. Simbolicaly, the idea behind this beautiful piece is simple yet effective – 1926 was the year when the brand's founder Hans Wilsdorf registred the name Tudor. Offered in steel or gold and steel, the new Tudor 1926 will be produced in 41, 39, 36 and 28mm, sizes to suit a variety of wrist dimensions.
